The EAA Spatial Audio Signal Processing Symposium (EAA SASP 2019) will be held in Paris, France, 6-7 September 2019.

This symposium aims to bring together researchers interested in spatial audio to present the state-of-the-art in the field and discuss future directions. The symposium is jointly organized by the European Acoustics Associations (EAA) and the French Acoustical Society (SFA), as a followup to the EAA Joint Symposium on Auralization and Ambisonics, held in Berlin in 2014. The symposium organizers would like researchers from Europe and from all around the world to join the symposium and enjoy the informal scientific atmosphere and wonderful ambiance at the city of lights.

With spatial audio technology rapidly advancing in applications such as virtual reality, spatial music, multimedia, and gaming, 3D sound plays an increasingly important role. From modelling and measurement, through signal processing, to sound reproduction, the challenges for achieving high quality spatial audio are still numerous.

The symposium organizers would therefore like to invite researchers to submit papers in a diverse range of topics related to spatial audio:

  • Modeling and simulation for spatial audio
  • Spatial audio signal processing
  • Headphone and loudspeaker based reproduction
  • Perceptual evaluation of spatial audio
  • Spatial audio coding
  • Applications and case studies

This event is a satellite symposium to ICA 2019 held in Aachen following the symposium, and will also follow immediately after EUSIPCO 2019.

Scientific Program Notes

All accepted papers and posters will be presented at SASP 2019.

The intent is to publish the proceeding on the HAL open archive, creating a “collection” on the system, providing a long-term archive. Each article should also have its own DOI.
